Children’s Ministries

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
(Matthew 19:14).

Children are always welcome at Holy Shepherd where we will help them grow closer to God, learn about Jesus, and have fun with their church family through Christ-centered activities.

Worship

Children are active participants as we join together to worship our savior, Jesus Christ.  They love banging their instruments or gently waving their ribbons to celebrate the reading of the Gospel during the worship services.

Children are invited to serve as acolytes (lighting the candles and helping serve communion).

Learn

A rich Sunday School program, Vacation Bible School, and specific workshops enable children to learn about Jesus, hear Bible stories, and develop an understanding of their Christian faith and Lutheran traditions.

Sunday School is offered from 9:50 – 10:50 during the school year. Children begin in worship and then depart with their classes following the Children’s Sermon. Sunday School lessons are based on the readings the children just heard in worship to help make connections with God’s word, the congregation in worship, and their lives.

Fun

Vacation Bible School!  Fall Festival! Trunk & Treat! Easter Egg Hunt! Breakfast at the Manger!  These are just a few of the examples of the Christ-centered fun things for children of all ages to participate in at Holy Shepherd.  As they play together, children develop lasting relationships built on a solid faith foundation that will help provide a network of support as they grow and face life’s challenges.

Check the church calendar for upcoming events.
